Ok, so I'm working on a paper, and I'm down to the last paragraph. I finish the paper and try to save it but it says, 'Word cannot read Final Paper' and so I try again and it closes me out of it with out saving! So in the end, I'm extremely pissed off and half my paper is GONE! This has happened before but none of the teachers do anything about it! I swear the teachers here are all escaped mental patients!

ouch. yeah that sucks. i know iv used that as a excuses to get more time, but its never actually happened to me.

everytime i save a document i save two copies... the document itself and a pdf version of it in another folder... at least if something goes wrong i still have the second copy (and believe me things go wrong a lot of times) =X

Get yourself a raid server with ghosted disks and remote disaster recovery. Oh and a UPS. Then you shouldn't have any trouble with your word documents, short of global apocalypse.
