hey everybody, if you want to chat in the IRC (you totally should) but dont want to have your browser open, heres another option for you! http://www.mirc.net download the free IRC client, and it runs just like any chat program. if you're comfortable with aim, you shouldnt have any problems here. just some notes

when it first starts, there will be a black screen that might start showing text. you probably wont understand it (i sure as hell dont). type the following:

/disconnect
/server irc.doomedyouth.net
/join #doomed

then you'll be in the DY IRC chat! if you've got any questions about connecting, feel free to ask.

Maybe try irc.doomedyouth.org for better results. Don't poke it unless you're gonna use it!

The IRC server went down when I changed servers, because it wasn't used at the time and setting up the IRC proved to be a right pain in the arse. I appreciate your desire to have live chat again but I can't justify the time and effort to get it working on here. There are free IRC hosts out there and you could always run a bot on one of them and keep it for DY purposes. If you guys want to do that and have a server IP and room you want me to advertise I can put it on the main page.

If I new anything about computers and the internet I'd help but all I can do right now is try to get more people on this site.
